Wherever you are, whatever you celebrate remember at this time when many faiths and cultures have their holy days that we are one family and that the essence of pure spirit has no religion. None greater or lesser in the eyes of love. Uphold your own traditions as you see fit but always leave room in your heart to respect and understand the ways of others.
This weekend brings a Full Moon! This will be happening at 6:11 EST on the morning of the 25th! This has not happened since 1977 and will not reoccur til 2034! Let's hope that viewing conditions are good!
Funny to think of it now but in 1977 I was 12 and Star Wars had just come out! Now in 2015 we see yet another chapter of this fantastic space epic with the return of some of the original players. In 77' we also saw The Voyager Space Voyager roll out to a new frontier and now we are seeing Space X returning from Mars! What leaps we have made since that time! What seemed once to be pure Sci Fi fantasy is becoming more real every day! The world my friends is changing fast! What insights will this lunation bring to us? What gifts do the heavens hold?
This week begins with a fantastic display of astronomical fireworks!
The Geminid Meteor Shower reaches it's peek and many will either be watching the show or feeling the effects if conditions for seeing them are not right. Here in the SouthEastern states our visibility is limited. Hopefully tonight will yield a nice clear sky for watching whatever transpires :) Either way I feel the effect of this event and see it as the ancients did in terms of new messages coming! We are sadly removed from our everyday view of the night skies in these days of vastly populated cities flooded by light. Take this time to honor this connection with the heavens by gazing into the universe within.
Ironically this is also the time that movie goers will be enjoying the return of The Star Wars series. Our minds are traveling fast!
We are all stars. As Above so below!

So this Sunday I participated in The People's Climate March 2015 in Atlanta GA. It was a powerful experience! This march was happening worldwide in solidarity with the Climate Action talks in Paris. There were many wonderful souls gathered on Sunday and many great speakers. In this time more than ever I urge you all to attend at least one event or action organized to benefit this planet we share. Whether it's the environment, human rights, animal welfare or any other cause that you feel drawn to, please get involved!
The more we come together and stand for what we believe in the more we come to the core of why we are here!
Well it's been a busy week my friends! The highlight certainly for me was attending the Bernie Sanders rally in Atlanta this Monday! Seeing a diverse crowd of people coming together for justice is always a thrill! In the system we are currently entrenched in and have been for way too long we seldom find someone with the people's interests in mind. With the world teetering on the brink of ecological and social disaster like never before we need strong souls who will be able to back up their words with honorable actions. The USA is a nation built on broken promises and many untruths. Sadly as we celebrate a day of feasting we must also remember the history of this day
Here is one account in my words and the source article:
In 1621 a truce between the Wanpanoag people and the Pilgrim Puritan settlers was celebrated with a three day harvest feast. The event was tense as the fugitives from England had come from a place of oppression themselves being not only the victims of religious persecution but themselves fanatics who were seeking to impose their ways on a people who they felt were unclean and unholy. These Pilgrims came to the new world bringing disease and destruction. One of the Wanpanoag, a baptized and Christian educated man named Squanto had a great love for a British explorer; John Weymouth. Their friendship had begun before The Pilgrims arrival in Plymouth and Squanto looked up to Weymouth like a father. Being convinced that these people were his friends by association he welcomed the Pilgrims and brought his tribe to engage in a land treaty with them. The Wananoag brought forth an abundance of food to these new people. They knew the land after all and all it could offer.
As many of you know this peace and sharing would be short lived.
So here in this age we must in all good consciousness ask ourselves "What are we celebrating?" Well to begin harvest festivals were we can be sure held on this land and many others long before any white man set foot on the shores of what was then Turtle Island or many other beautiful names. Thanksgiving should not be a day to be taken lightly. It should be a time of remembrance where we give thanks for those whose kindness extends without borders for without such welcome we would not be here. We must also remember the injustice of this day and pledge to end bigotry and greed. Let us come together as the first people did to share a feast of gratitude to our Mother the Earth and extend this sharing as much as possible with all in need. Let us teach our children that we are many tribes all within one great tribe. Let us remember the sacred hoop of life and our place within it.

As the world finds itself once again torn by violence we also prepare to address our responsibility as a species.
The impact on our environment has reached devastating degrees!
We can not allow the power elite to destroy our resources and our lives!
The Earth is in pain and that pain is manifested in all that is around us.
We must answer this call to action with fierceness! We must be warriors for the planet in ways that honor all within the circle of life. We are all in this together!
We must relearn our relationships and weave a stronger web of connection so we may catch the lies that bring disease to this time.
I will be meditating on new ways to reach out for change. I suggest this is something we all do and use our minds, our hearts and our hands.
With suffering comes a rebirth
May that come soon!
Here in Athens GA we had been in the midst of an awful run of cloudy, soggy depressing weather for well over three weeks time. Today the sun popped out of grey skies and wow it was a lovely day!
Along with the sun came a nice upsurge of energy! It's amazing what we take for granted!
Still the winter will soon come and when the sun is gone what will we bring to make the days lighter?
Is there something that we have overlooked? Is it writing that novel or song? building that extension in the house? making holiday cards? signing up for that crazy course?
What is lying around. Look at the clutter and in forgotten corners.
Time to see what clues are there and bring the results out
Hello dears! I hope all of you who celebrate had a wonderful Samhain, Hallows Eve, Day Of The Dead call it what we may it is a time that we give our attentions to the ancestors and yet also as the veil thins between the worlds we herald it's opening by dressing up in costumes and enjoying sweets! Yes whether it's candy corn or sugar skulls this special time of reverence is also one of indulgence for us kiddies big and small.
So what's with all the face painting and goody baskets some might ask? Is this a distraction from the underlying more solemn theme of this time? It has indeed been said by some that such celebrations are a mockery of the true tradition. I tend to disagree.
Think about our tribal ancestors, costumed revels and rituals were often a part of their daily life or at least used quite often. Sweets were often offered to whatever deity was being asked to grant favor to the tribe. In some places though this is sadly becoming more and more scarce this still goes on. We as westerners in a work a day, disconnected world tend to forget this.
So here we are a modern culture who for one magic weekend give ourselves over to embodying the fantastic the wild spirits of shared mythologies, the masks and dances of the shaman! It doesn't matter if you're a candy raver, Goth royalty or the guy who works flipping burgers all week and usually wouldn't be caught dead looking anything other than 'normal'. The Pumpkin King sounds his horn and honey you are there wearing horns, wings, elf shoes...even your dog is in a dress! Beautiful isn't it?
Well I think so. I'm always sad to see it end. We need more play time, more fun, more ritual dances!
In life there are many masks. Why stick with the dull ones? Here's to more veils lifting and a more magical world!
As we prepare to embark on the masquerade stop and give honor to those who have left this Earthly plane.
Without their contributions where would we be today?
Time to go to the roots
The deep magick calls!
The Witching Hour draws near!
Come and play with the ghosts and faeries!
Shed the shell you wear in the human world
Dance with the moon )O(

So my friends things have been moving and shaking, shifts are taking place worldwide in every moment!
In Our day to day lives we often fall into a consciousness of the mundane where all seems static, dull.
If we were to be aware of the fantastic goings on around us surely we would never be bored and never take the miracle of life on this planet for granted!
You may be sitting at a desk yawning over a cup of coffee and dreading another day of 'the same old..." but just outside those walls there are hundreds of creatures preparing for the winter. The winds are changing, leaves are being painted by an invisible artist.
If we could only feel these things more deeply as they are all part of the circle of life that unites us and where we find the meaning of our journey.
Take time today and each day
to be still,
